How Sclerotherapy Works

 

Sclerotherapy is a minimally invasive procedure intended for the treatment and removal of both spider and reticular veins. During this in-office treatment, our West Medical phlebologist will inject a solution, known as a sclerosant, into the troublesome vein, causing them to dissolve, collapse, and fade from view.

Sclerotherapy is a relatively painless treatment intended to improve the cosmetic appearance of your veins, and can ease and, in some cases, even cure conditions associated with spider veins. The sclerotherapy treatment only uses a small needle and there is no need for anesthesia. Sclerotherapy can last 5 to 60 minutes, depending on the depending on the amount of spider and reticular veins that require treatment.
